First, we would supply the material and have it delivered, then hang it. After that, we move on to finishing it, which is taping, bedding and skimming. Then sanding, priming, and point up. At the end of the process, we always do a walk through with the homeowner to make sure the job meets their requirements. Sometimes, we have to come back alter and do a patch or cut a new hole as construction progresses, but we’re happy to do that.
The process would begin with assessing the patch, covering up what needs to be covered up in the area, cutting it out to size where we could put the whole patch in, and then tape and float it with a quick set. After the quick set, we skim it with a normal joint compound, and then either dry it out or come back the next day to do sanding. If you want painting done after that, we’re happy to lend a hand.
We work with all different sizes, brands, and types of drywall. We can do quarter-inch, half-inch, mold resistant, soffit board, and anything else you can dream up!
Half inch is what goes in all houses. There are lightweight and regular weight options, but the half inch is a standard in all homes. And then the moisture resistant drywall keeps the moisture off your walls so it doesn’t absorb to your walls and create mold. It’s very mold resistant and is mostly used in bathroom and water areas.
We are insured, and, if need be, we can get a speciality for a license for a job. We’re not required to be licensed in this area, but we have more than 22 years of experience to back up our work, as well as stellar customer reviews.
If the job is a whole house, drywalling takes six days to two weeks, depending on the size. A standard house is usually six days, but a larger custom home can take up to two weeks. Patch jobs usually take a couple of hours.
The timeline can be affected by things such as rain, snow, or freezing cold. Weather is definitely the number one factor when it comes to how long a job takes, but there’s also the aspect of coming across unexpected problems and delays.
